Schedule scenarios in Think Crew allow you to create and compare different scheduling options without disrupting your primary schedule. This powerful feature helps you explore alternatives and make informed decisions.
What Are Schedule Scenarios?
Schedule scenarios are variations of your main schedule that let you:
- Test different shooting orders
- Plan for contingencies (weather, actor availability, etc.)
- Compare scheduling approaches side by side
- Preserve approved schedules while developing alternates
Creating a New Scenario
To create a new schedule scenario:
- Navigate to your schedule’s Scenarios panel
- Click “Create New Scenario”
- Name your scenario descriptively (e.g., “Rain Contingency,” “Alternate Location”)
- Choose whether to duplicate the current scenario or start from scratch
- Click “Create” to generate your new scenario
Switching Between Scenarios
You can easily toggle between different scenarios:
- Use the scenario dropdown menu in the schedule toolbar
- Each scenario maintains its own independent boards and arrangement
- Changes made in one scenario won’t affect others
Comparing Scenarios
Think Crew allows direct comparison of scenarios:
- Open multiple scenarios in separate panes using the tab system
- Use the “Compare” feature to highlight differences between schedules
- Generate comparison reports to share with stakeholders
Promoting a Scenario
When you decide on the best scenario:
- Use the “Set as Primary” option to promote it to your main schedule
- Archive unused scenarios for future reference
- Share the finalized scenario with your team
Schedule scenarios provide the flexibility needed to adapt to the unpredictable nature of production while maintaining organization. By developing multiple options simultaneously, you’ll be prepared for whatever challenges arise during your production.
