There may be times when you need to remove a project from your Think Crew workspace, whether it’s because a production has completed, was canceled, or needs to be restructured. Understanding how project deletion works is important for maintaining your workspace organization.
Who Can Delete Projects
Only users with specific permissions can delete projects:
- Project Creators: Only the original creator of a project can permanently delete it from the system.
- Project Members: Users who were invited to a project cannot delete it, but they can choose to leave the project, removing it from their own view without affecting other team members.
Deleting a Project as a Creator
If you created the project, you can permanently delete it by following these steps:
- Access the project settings (via the “Manage” button)
- Scroll to the bottom of the settings page to find the “Delete project” section
- Click the “Permanently delete project” button
- Confirm your decision in the warning dialog that appears
Leaving a Project as a Team Member
If you were invited to join a project but wish to remove yourself:
- Access the project settings (via the “Manage” button)
- Scroll to the bottom of the settings page
- Click the “Leave project” button
- Confirm your decision when prompted
Important Considerations Before Deleting
Before removing a project, please consider:
- Permanent Action: When a creator deletes a project, all associated data (scripts, schedules, breakdowns, etc.) is permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
- Team Impact: Deleting a project removes access for all team members. Consider notifying your team before taking this action.
- Data Export: If you might need the project information in the future, export any important schedules or documents before deletion.
- Alternative Options: Instead of deletion, consider archiving by removing team members or simply leaving the project inactive if you may need to reference it later.
When you delete or leave a project, your current project setting will automatically change to another available project in your workspace if one exists.
