Script Editor Basics

The Think Crew Script Editor provides powerful tools to view, edit, and manage your screenplay content after import. The editor maintains professional script formatting while enabling you to make changes and create breakdowns.

Accessing the Script Editor

To access the script editor:

  • Navigate to the Scripts page
  • Click on any script’s name to open it
  • Select a scene to view or edit

Editor Interface

The script editor interface includes:

  • Navigation Controls: Slider and scene selector to move between scenes
  • Scene Numbers: Displayed on both left and right sides of the page
  • Editing Toolbar: Format text and control script elements when in edit mode
  • Content Area: The main area displaying the formatted script text

Editing Tools

The editing toolbar provides industry-standard screenplay formatting options:

  • Text Formatting: Bold, italic, underline, and strikethrough options
  • Element Types: Scene Heading, Action, Character, Parenthetical, Dialogue, Shot, and Transition
  • Scene Control: Option to mark scenes as “OMIT”
  • Element Tagging: Tag words or phrases to create production elements for breakdowns

Making Edits

  1. Click the “Edit” button in the editor toolbar to enter edit mode
  2. Make your desired changes to the script content
  3. Use the formatting buttons to maintain proper screenplay format
  4. Click “Save” to preserve your changes

Any changes made in the script editor will be reflected throughout Think Crew, including in breakdowns and schedules that reference the script content. The editor preserves proper screenplay formatting automatically, ensuring your script remains industry-standard even after edits.
