Script Views (Scene, Breakdown, Script)

Think Crew offers three distinct ways to interact with your script content, each designed for specific production tasks. Understanding these different views helps you work more efficiently with your script material.

Scene View

Scene View focuses on a single scene at full size, ideal for detailed work:

  • Displays one scene at a time with complete formatting and content
  • Provides editing capabilities for script text and formatting
  • Shows scene numbers in the margins
  • Enables element tagging for breakdown purposes
  • Perfect for close reading, editing, and breakdown tagging work

Breakdown View

Breakdown View integrates script content with breakdown elements:

  • Displays the pane structure with multiple sections
  • Shows the scene alongside its associated breakdowns
  • Allows for managing elements, categories, and script information simultaneously
  • Enables direct linking between script content and production elements
  • Ideal for production planning and organizing scene elements

Script View

Script View provides a comprehensive look at your entire script:

  • Displays thumbnail previews of all scenes in your script
  • Arranges scenes in a grid layout for easy browsing
  • Shows scene numbers and approximate page count for each scene
  • Allows clicking on any thumbnail to open that scene in Scene View
  • Perfect for getting an overview of the entire script or quickly locating specific scenes

Switching Between Views

Toggle between views using the view selector in the script page’s navigation bar. Each view preserves your current scene selection, allowing you to seamlessly transition between different ways of working with the same content based on your current task.
