# Adding Data to a Breakdown

Populating your breakdowns with accurate data is crucial for effective production planning. This guide explains how to add and manage various types of data in your Think Crew breakdowns.

## Basic Breakdown Fields

Once you've created a breakdown, you can add essential information to the following fields:

- **Scene Number:** Enter the scene number from your script
- **Description:** Add a brief description of the scene content
- **Pages:** Enter the page count (in eighths) for accurate timing
- **Duration:** Estimate how long the scene will take to shoot
- **Script Page:** Note which page(s) in the script contain this scene
- **Comments:** Add any additional notes for the production team

## Adding Elements to Breakdowns

For information about adding elements, see the [Working with the Elements Pane](/working-with-the-elements-pane/) article.

## Special Element Fields

Think Crew provides dedicated fields for commonly used elements:

- **I/E (Interior/Exterior):** Select from your Interior/Exterior elements
- **D/N (Day/Night):** Choose the time of day from your Day/Night elements
- **Set:** Select the primary set or location
- **Script Day:** Assign a story day element
- **Unit:** Specify which production unit will shoot this scene
- **Location:** Assign a specific location element
- **Sequence:** Group scenes into larger narrative sequences

## Batch Editing Multiple Breakdowns

To add data to multiple breakdowns at once:

1. Select multiple breakdowns using Shift-click or Ctrl/Cmd-click
2. Edit any field in the breakdown panel
3. Your changes will apply to all selected breakdowns

Keep your breakdown data accurate and up-to-date to ensure your production schedule remains reliable throughout your project.
