Manually Setting a Strip’s Color

Color-coding your breakdown strips in Think Crew helps create visual organization in your schedule and makes it easier to identify different types of scenes at a glance. This article explains how to change strip colors and use them effectively.

Traditionally you would just allow the color of the strip to be determined by the current design’s palette. However, there are circumstances where you may want to override the natural colors and have a strip, banner or day break be a unique color.

How to Manually Set the Color of a Strip

To set the color of a strip:

  1. Select any number of strips from a board
  2. In the breakdown pane, select the Color field, this will open a color picker.
  3. Select any color you like
  4. Click off of the color pane to exit

Resetting the Color to Use the Palette

If you would like a strip to use the color palette again:

  1. Select the strips you would like to affect
  2. In the breakdown pane, select the Color field, this will open a color picker.
  3. Click the “Use palette” button
  4. Click off of the color pane to exit

Your selected strips will now look to the palette to determine their color

Effective color-coding creates an intuitive visual language for your production schedule that enhances communication and makes your board easier to navigate at a glance.
