Think Crew allows you to import scripts directly into your project, enabling seamless integration with your production planning. The platform supports industry-standard script formats, making it easy to bring your existing scripts into the system.
Supported File Formats
Currently, Think Crew supports the following script file formats:
- PDF Files (.pdf) – Standard PDF scripts exported from any writing software
- Final Draft Files (.fdx) – Native files from Final Draft scriptwriting software
How to Import Scripts
- Navigate to the Scripts page from your dashboard
- Click the “Add Scripts” or “Upload” button in the top navigation
- Either drag and drop your script files into the upload area or click to browse your files
- Select one or more script files (up to 10 files at once, each under 5MB)
- Wait for the upload and processing to complete
What Happens During Import
When you import a script, Think Crew automatically:
- Parses the script to identify scenes, characters and other elements
- Creates breakdown categories for characters, locations, props, etc.
- Extracts scene information (INT/EXT, day/night, location, scene numbers)
- Preserves formatting for dialogue, action, and other script elements
- Captures script metadata like revision dates
- If the file is a Final Draft file and it has existing element tagging, that tagging will be preserved and ingested into Think Crew.
After import, your script will appear in your project’s script list and is ready for further breakdown and scheduling. The imported scripts maintain their formatting and structure for easy reference throughout your production process.
