Think Crew’s multi-select feature allows you to update multiple breakdown elements simultaneously, saving significant time when making consistent changes across your production schedule. This powerful capability streamlines the breakdown management process.
Selecting Multiple Elements
There are several methods to select multiple breakdown elements at once:
- Shift+Click: Select a range of consecutive elements
- Ctrl/Cmd+Click: Add individual elements to your selection
- Find Selection: Use find/replace to select all elements matching specific criteria
Batch Editing Options
Once you’ve selected multiple elements, you will notice that the breakdown and elements panes become highlighted. You can apply various changes to all selected strips at once:
- Breakdown: Any changes that you make to the breakdown will affect all selected strips. For example, if you select three strips and two of them are “Day”, by selecting “Night” from the breakdown, all three strips will now be “Night”
- Elements: Any elements that you add or remove will update all of the selected strips. For example, if some of the strips have the character “George”, clicking the x to remove that character will remove “George” from all of the strips. The inverse is true too, if you add an element, that element will be added to all selected strips.
Multi-Select Best Practices
Consider these tips when working with multi-select:
- Verify Selection: Check your selection before applying changes
- Review Changes: After batch operations, review affected elements
The multi-select functionality in Think Crew significantly reduces the time needed to manage breakdown elements by enabling efficient batch operations. This feature is particularly valuable for large productions with numerous elements that require consistent formatting, properties, or scheduling adjustments.
