Moving a Schedule to Another Project

2 min read

Think Crew allows you to easily move schedules between different projects, saving you time when working on related productions or when reorganizing your workflow.

When to Move a Schedule #

Consider moving a schedule to another project when:

  • A production has been restructured into multiple projects
  • You want to use a successful schedule as a template for a new production
  • A schedule was initially created in the wrong project
  • You’re consolidating multiple smaller projects into a larger one
  • Different departments need access to specific schedules in their own projects

How to Move a Schedule #

Moving a schedule between projects is straightforward:

  1. Navigate to the Schedules page in your source project
  2. Locate the schedule you wish to move
  3. Click the “Select” button at the top right of the menu bar
  4. Click the checkboxes of any schedules you wish to move
  5. Select the “Move” dropdown from the menu bar
  6. In the dialog that appears, select the destination project from the dropdown list

What Happens When Moving a Schedule #

When you move a schedule to another project:

  • The complete schedule with all its items is transferred
  • The schedule is removed from the source project
  • All schedule settings and customizations are preserved
  • The schedule appears in the destination project’s schedule list
  • User permissions for the schedule will adopt the destination project’s settings

Important Considerations #

Before moving a schedule, keep these points in mind:

  • You must have appropriate permissions in both the source and destination projects
  • Elements that are linked to scenes from the source project may lose their connections
  • If the destination project uses different categories, you may need to adjust the schedule after moving
  • Consider notifying team members when moving schedules between projects
  • The action cannot be automatically undone, though you can manually move the schedule back if needed

Moving schedules between projects helps maintain organizational efficiency and enables you to leverage existing work across different productions in your Think Crew workspace.
